As Superintendent of Barnesville Exempted Village School District, I would like to welcome you to our website. This site will provide you with useful information regarding our schools' activities and events. Myself, the Staff, and the Board of Education are very excited about the 2012-2013 School Year. Preliminary test scores from the Ohio Department of Education indicate that Barnesville Elementary School met all grade level indicators and will be rated as Excellent with Distinction for the 3rd consecutive year. Preliminary test scores also indicate that our Middle School has met Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) for 2 consecutive years and met 9 of 11 grade level indicators and Barnesville High School met 9 of 12 grade level indicators.
This is an exciting time for our district as we were recently awarded a 21st Century Community Learning Centers, CCLC, grant for $850,000 over 5 years to provide after-school programs and activities for our middle school and high school students. We want to thank The Barnesville Hutton Memorial Library and Barnesville Hospital for partnering with us in this endeavor. We also continue to offer successful after-school programs for our elementary students in addition to a variety of summer school programs for students at all levels.
We were also awarded a Local Government Innovation Fund, LGIF, grant in the amount of $100,000 to conduct a feasibility study to research the potential advantages and/or disadvantages associated with the potential sharing of administrative resources between neighboring districts.
We are a progressive school district in a supportive community with a great staff and excellent students.
If you have any any questions or recommendations regarding our schools, please don't hesitate to contact me at email@example.com or 1-740-425-3615.
