The Ohio Department of Education recognizes schools across Ohio that are demonstrating high achievement in reading and mathematics for all groups of students, despite their socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds. Barnesville Elementary School was recently recognized by the Ohio Department of Education as a School of Promise for the 2010-11 school year, based on the most recent state report card. This is the third time that Barnesville Elementary has been recognized for this award. They are one of 122 Schools of Promise in Ohio.
